  17. <p>     Whether you loved it or hated it--and it was easy to do
  18. both, because it powerfully portrayed each of those emotions--it was hard not to be blown away by Michael Jackson's new video
  19. when it made its debut last week. With mind-boggling effects and
  20. a hodgepodge of imagery, the 11-minute Black or White took
  21. viewers from a home in suburbia to the plains of Africa to a
  22. series of faces melting one into another with Terminator 2
  23. fluidity. In fact, the video's wizardry and crotch-grabbing
  24. wildness overshadow the music, which is far from the
  25. cutting-edge sound fans are used to hearing from Jackson. But
  26. the crotch-grabbing was too much for those with children
  27. watching. Complaints caused the singer to cut a 4-minute
  28. sequence.

  30. <p>     The song's album, Dangerous, will share shelf space with
  31. an unscheduled offering from Michael's brother Jermaine: the
  32. original version of Word to the Badd!! The song is critical of
  33. Michael: "Once you were made/ You changed your shade." The words
  34. were rewritten for Jermaine's new album, but radio stations
  35. played bootleg copies of the original. But don't expect a
  36. continued family feud. The brothers spoke face to face recently
  37. for the first time in eight months.
